Brandon Roux Biography
Brandon Roux is an American meteorologist working for Local 4 where he serves as the noon and morning meteorologist from 4;30 am to 7 am. He joined the Local 4 weather team in June 2010.
Brandon and his family relocated to Metro Detroit in June 2010, when he also joined the Local 4 weather team. He was brought up in the Chicago suburbs. While working at Local 4, his reports range from covering weather and storm damage to fun features.
Over the years, he has covered huge weather events such as the Dexter Tornado and interviewed Matthew Stafford, Lions QB on his devotion to the drastic need for more youth fitness. Prior to joining g Local 4 News, Roux worked at WBNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ohio where he served as a broadcast meteorologist.
In addition, Brandon has also worked at KIVI-TV in Boise, Idaho, KTNV-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada, and at WFTC-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Brandon has also worked in every time zone and every climate from the frozen tundra of the Twin Cities to the Las Vegas desert. His favorite season is winter thus he landed in the right place in Michigan as the winter weather in Michigan seems to have a more widespread effect. Furthermore, he is a Type 1 Diabetic thus he is greatly involved with the American Diabetes Association of Michigan and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Southfield, Michigan.
Roux is passionate about finding a cure for diabetes and being one of the proud faces of the disease in Detroit. The National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society awarded him with their Seal of Approval. He has also received a number of awards s for weather coverage, such as the Associated Press Award awarded to him in 2009, for Best Weather Continuing Coverage and Outstanding Weather Operation.
