Brian Shields Biography

Brian Shields is an American meteorologist working for WFTV serving as the weekday meteorologist. He has been working for the station since 2006.

Brian Shields Education

Shields earned a degree in geography from Pennsylvania’s Villanova University. While there, he co-authored two studies with his professor on hurricanes and their impact on increased precipitation in the Eastern United States. Mississippi State University then earned him a degree in Broadcast Meteorology. He also has an Emergency Management certificate from Florida State University.

Shields serves as the weekday meteorologist on Eyewitness News Daybreak and at noon. He started his journalism career at the ABC affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland where he served as a meteorologist and reporter from August 2002 to June 2004. She later on started working Sinclair Broadcast Group where he served as a meteorologist for about 2 years and 1 month. In addition to that, she was previously a board member at the Orlando Science Center but is still partnering with them on certain projects.

Shields is also the owner of the National Weather Association Seal of Approval and is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM Seal Holder). He is also the number one fan of the New York Yankees and enjoys watching Villanova Wildcats. Furthermore, he also enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
