Greg Warmoth Biography
Greg Warmoth is a News Anchor, currently working for WFTV since 1986. He co-anchors the Eyewitness News at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. along with Tom Terry and Martha Sugalski. Warmoth worked as a weekend sports anchor for the first 11 years in WFTV. There he reported some game-changing events, i.e. from Orlando’s acquisition of an NBA franchise to the team’s run to the NBA Finals.

Even as a news anchor, he still likes covering sporting events occasionally. Movie fans may recognize him as the Kennedy Space Center reporter in the film “Armageddon.”
In 1997, Ken Tyndall, the Eyewitness News Daybreak anchor, left Orlando for a job in Las Vegas. Their News Director, Lauren Watkins, requested him to fill in for the ABC-affiliates annual conference in Orlando because they only had one anchor, Cynthia Vega. He worked sports on weekends and news during the week during this time. By July, WFTV asked him to move to the news department. For the next 15 years, he woke up at 2:45 a.m. every day to co-anchor: Eyewitness News This Morning on TV-27, Eyewitness News Daybreak, and Eyewitness News at Noon along with Vanessa Echols.
During his leisure, he can be seen jogging and walking around the beautiful Lake Eola on a daily basis, since he is a new resident of Thornton Park. He also finds himself working as a rewarder at the Special Olympics Florida as well as enjoying hosting the annual Polar Plunge, Additionally, he is heavily involved in Chris DiMarco’s “Tee Up For Life” pro-am golf tournament. He says that they have raised more than $5 million for children with cancer over the last 15 years.
