Vanessa Echols is an American author and former TV anchor/reporter who is well known for working at WFTV where she served as the noon and 4 pm news anchor. She worked for the station from August 1992 to May 2022.

Echols worked at WFTV where she served as an anchor before she retired on May 25, 2022. She had also spent several years working at a radio station in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, as well as television stations in Tennessee and Georgia including WMAZ-TV in Macon, Georgia. She also spent some time working for WRDQ where he served as the station’s morning anchor.
Echols has also served as honorary chairman for the Susan G. Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure. In addition to that, she was also a keynote speaker for the University of Central Florida’s 2006 Breast Cancer Update conference. She is a breast cancer survivor and hence is very dedicated to helping people and organizations dealing with cancer.
She is also involved in the Central Florida community, speaking at churches and schools on a regular basis and volunteering with a number of community service organizations, including UNCF and 100 Women Strong, a charitable giving circle. Echols has also been a Girl Scout for a long time and in 2004, she decided to take up a new cause.
She went to Auburn High School and later on joined the University of Alabama where she majored in broadcast journalism. During her leisure, she loves spending her time with family and friends, as well as listening to podcasts. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
