Brian Shlonsky is an American five-time Emmy award-winning anchor and anchor working at WAVE 3 where he serves as a morning co-ancho and midday anchor. He joined WAVE 3 in 2019, after previously working at ABC 10News San Diego.
Over the years, he has won five Emmy Awards including for best live reporter and best anchor. Louisville is his native home and not long ago, he worked for ABC affiliate KGTV in San Diego, California where he served as an anchor, reporter, and breaking news anchor. Before joining KGTV, he worked at ABC affiliate KOCO 5 News in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he served as an anchor, reporter, and storm chaser. In addition, Shlonsky has also worked at NBC affiliate KKCO-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado, and spent time working in PR in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, Brian related to Louisville and re-joined WAVE 3 News after previously working at the station as an intern during the beginning of his television career as a news content specialist. In 2007 Shlonsky joined the University of Kentucky where he graduated 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. While he was at the University of Kentucky, he was an assistant news editor for the school’s daily, independent newspaper called The Kentucky Kernel. For his work at The Kentucky Kernel, he won two Kentucky Press Association Awards.
