Brittany Bell Biography

Brittany Bell is an American meteorologist working at WABC in New York where she serves as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. She joined WABC in July 2021, after previously working at WTVD. 

Prior to joining WABC, she worked at ABC 11 in Raleigh, North Carolina in addition to filling in on World News Tonight and Good Morning America. The American Meteorological Society awarded her with their prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal. In 2009, Bell joined Mississippi State University where she graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology. While she was at Mississippi State University, she was selected to take part in the school’s Great Plains storm chase.

Brittany’s love for weather started while she was a child and one of the main events that sparked her interest in severe weather was the 1998, Nashville F3 tornado. Over the years, she has worked in a number of regions of the country thus she is familiar with covering active weather ranging from tornadoes to snowstorms. In addition, she started her career at WMC-TV in Memphis where she freelanced is during her senior year of college.

Later on, she worked at ABC 11 in Raleigh, North Carolina, WAPT in Jackson Mississippi, and 40/29 in Northwest Arkansas. While she worked in North Carolina, she covered a number of impactful hurricanes such as Isaias, Dorian, and Florence. During her leisure time, she enjoys eating at local restaurants and spending time outdoors.
