Gibson works with WWL-TV where she serves the station as an Evening News Anchor.  The Emmy-nominated journalist spent her time in the WWL-TV newsroom writing for the WWL morning show. It is the writing that encouraged her to pursue a full-time producer position along the Mississippi Gulf Coast at WLOX-TV. Later on, after about two years, she returned to her home state and was working as a Morning News Anchor for KSLA News 12 This Morning in Shreveport, LA.

While she was in Shreveport, she profiled some of ArkLaTex’s forgotten faces such as Shreveport’s first African-American police officer and the woman pegged to be the next Clementine Hunter. It is these stories that earned her the 2015 Diversity Fellowship for the Journalism and Women’s Symposium. Asides from that, she was also a guest on the premier episode of “Flip My Food” with Chef Jeff Henderson.

She states that her talent wasn’t just confined to the newsroom but was also producing the NWLA Affiliate of Susan G Komen’s “Dancing for the Cure” competition featuring local media stars. Asides from that, she also serves as a board member for the Affiliate.

She also served as chairwoman for the first time event in the area, raising more than $25,000 to go towards the mission of finding a cure for breast cancer earning her the Susan G Komen Volunteer of the Year trendsetter award. This is in addition to serving on the advisory board for the Renzi Education and Art Center, a free after-school program for underprivileged youth in the community.

After she had spent several years in Shreveport, she took her talents to Cincinnati, Ohio where she was working as an anchor/co-host of the FOX 19 Now Morning Xtra. Asides from this, she was also working as a host and executive producer of “Cincinnati Connection,” which is a public affair show that explores social and community issues locally, state-wide, and nationally.

While she was working for FOX 19, she was nominated for an Emmy for her documentary on the Freedom Riders and their connection to the Greater Cincinnati area such as the training of hundreds of students at Miami University for the Mississippi Summer Project or “Freedom Summer.”

Charisse is a proud graduate of Warren Easton and THE Southern University A&M College located in Baton Rouge, Los Angeles. Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs children Isabella and Joey. Asides from that, she also loves checking out new restaurants in the city and traveling to Latin American countries.
