Romans serves as an anchor Early Start alongside Laura Jarrett on weekdays from 4 am to 6 am ET as well as the Chief Business Correspondent. She was awarded an Emmy Award for covering several stories including stories about globalization all across the states and beyond. She is also the author of three books called Smart is the New Rich Money Guide for Millennials which was released in March 2015 as well as New Rich: If You Can’t Afford it—Put it Down which was released in 2010.

Romans is also in charge of covering everything that has to do with money, business, and finances. In 2010, she served as the co-host of  a special investigative report which examined financier Bernard Madoff  called, “Madoff: Secrets of a Scandal.” In the previous year, she presented her special report called “In God We Trust: Faith & Money in America” which unmasked how religious values guide people on how to spend money. Additionally, her special report called “Living Dangerously” displayed the precautions and risks of the Americans living in the path of an Atlantic coast hurricane.

Prior to joining CNN Business News, she had worked on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where she served as a reporter. She also served as the anchor of Street Sweep on CNNfn tracking the market’s boom through the tragedy of the Sept. 11 attacks and the late 1990s. In addition to that, she also served as the anchor of the first democratic elections in the history of Iraq from CNN Center in Atlanta. Furthermore, she also enclosed four presidential elections and four hurricanes. She was also honored with a media excellence award from The National Foundation for Women Legislators.

She also received an Alfred I. DuPont Award for enclosing the tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia. Romans went to Friendly Valley High School where she attained her high school diploma. She, later on, joined Iowa State University where she graduated in 1993 and majored in French.
