Courtney Jorgensen is an American meteorologist working at WNDU where she serves as a fill-in meteorologist and as the host of Experience Michiana on WNIT. She joined the WNDU-TV team in December 2017.

During her senior year of high school, Courtney was crowned Michigan’s Junior Miss in 1999, giving her the opportunity to travel around the state and compete in America’s Junior Miss. Courtney attended the prestigious University of Michigan after graduating as Valedictorian from Wayne Memorial High School in 1999. In 2003, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Science, and in 2004 she earned a Master of Science in Atmospheric Science.

Jorgensen works at WNDU where she serves as a fill-in meteorologist. Since 2005, she has resided and worked in Michigan. She had set her mind on becoming a meteorologist ever since she was a little girl and when she was 7 years old, she set up a video recorder in the living room and used a hairbrush as a microphone to report the weather. She recalls seeing a funnel cloud nearby out her front door and being the only one in her family who sought shelter in an interior hallway while the rest stared in awe at the sky.
In 1999, while she was a senior in high school, she was Michigan’s Junior Miss and she traveled around the state before she finally competed in America’s Junior Miss. While she studied at the University of Michigan, she served as the president of the Society of Women Engineers. In addition, Jorgensen worked at WOLV-TV which is a student-run television station where she served as a Chief Weather Forecaster. Courtney also worked at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan where she served as the Associate Weather Producer.
After she had graduated, she took time off weather so work in corporate America and then onto non-profit work. In 2011, she came back to television and worked at WSJV-TV Elkhart, Indiana as a weekend meteorologist till the summer of 2016. Whenever she finds time, she works as the 5K Director for Girls on the Run Michiana and as Community Engagement Coordinator. Courtney is passionate about inspiring young girls in the community to be joyful, confident, and healthy. During her leisure time, she enjoys singing, volunteering, exercising, going to Disney World, spending time with her large family, puzzling, and visiting the beach.
