Cullen Browder is an American Emmy-Award-winning Reporter/Anchor working for WRAL-TV where he serves the station as an Investigative Reporter/Anchor. He has been working with the WRAL-TV team since June of the year 1998.

Browder is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication. This was after studying in the school between 1982 and 1986.

Browder works for WRAL-TV where he serves the station as an Investigative Reporter/Anchor. Prior to joining the WRAL-TV team, he was working with WRTV-TV, Indianapolis, Ind. where he served the station as a weekend anchor/reporter. There, he worked between June 1996 and June 1998.

Prior to this, he also worked with WTVC-TV located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. There, he served the station between February 1993 and June 1996 as a Reporter. He has also previously worked as a Reporter with WGMC-TV, Worcester, Massachusetts between January 1991 and February 1993. Asides from this, he has also worked with WFGL-AM and WTAG-AM in Central Massachusetts. There, he served the two teams as a radio news anchor/reporter between November 1987 and January 1991.

Prior to kick-starting his journalism career, his first work after college was working on a fish-processing ship in Alaska. There, he had always wanted to see Alaska and craved an adventure. He, therefore, off-loaded, sorted, cleaned, weighed, and packaged black cod and salmon for a summer. This was while traveling around the Aleutian Islands. Later in, he rode from Anchorage to San Diego on a motorcycle.

Among his most memorable assignments for him is getting a chance to work on stories that lead to change in state government. He states that he is privileged to tell the stories of people battling Alzheimer’s and homelessness. Asides from this, he also states that he is always amazed to see the courage and resilience of people in the face of great adversity. He states that in order to be fair, responsible, and accurate to the community, every day he has to be a teacher and a student.

Cullen states that what he enjoys most about North Carolina is that it is an incredible place to live and raise a family. He also states that there is a great diversity of people and it is wonderful having beautiful beaches and mountains in the same state. Away from work, he enjoys spending his free time with his family, traveling, speaking to local groups, reading, and watching sports. His favorite book happens to be “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
