Dan Hanger is an American journalist currently working as the anchor, reporter, and producer for FOX 21 News at 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dan joined FOX 21 as a reporter in October 2010.

Dan Hanger Career

Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Columbia College Chicago in 2005. He has worked in television, radio, and online journalism for over 17 years.

Dan previously worked at GAP West Broadcasting for a group of Duluth radio stations, anchored and reported at KBJR-TV, and spent two years as a web editor with Internet Broadcasting – publishing news for NBC’s owned-and-operated websites from Chicago’s WMAQ-TV newsroom during his final years of college.

Dan is frequently asked to emcee some of Northland’s most important charitable events, such as the annual Fur Ball for Animal Allies Humane Society. He’s also a big supporter of the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics Minnesota, where he’s raised more than $14,000 since 2012.
