Dan Krauth Biography

Dan Krauth is an award-winning investigative journalist currently working as an Investigative Reporter at ABC7NY. He joined the Eyewitness News team in October 2019.

Dan Krauth Career

His reporting has resulted in changes in state and local laws as a result of exposing government waste and corruption. His most recent reporting exposed questionable plastic surgery techniques at facilities where patients were dying. His allegations pushed lawmakers to pass a state law protecting patients in 2019, as well as a shift in how surgeons around the country perform a common treatment.

Dan’s reporting has earned him a regional Edward R. Murrow Award as well as several Emmy Awards. His award-winning reports have shown a growing threat to drinking water as well as the expense to taxpayers of abandoned government buildings. Dan worked five years as an investigative journalist at WTVJ in Miami before joining Eyewitness News.

He’s also worked as a weekend anchor/reporter for WISE in Fort Wayne, IN, and as an investigative reporter for WPTV in West Palm Beach, FL. He’s also worked as a reporter for WXMI in Grand Rapids, MI, and as an investigative reporter for WPTV in West Palm Beach, FL. His first position in television news was as a producer for WREX in Rockford, Illinois, where he worked as a morning program host. Dan grew raised in a Detroit suburb and graduated from the University of Michigan with honors.
