Dan Wolfe Biography

Dan Wolfe is an American Emmy award-winning anchor/reporter working at KBJR 6 where he serves as an evening anchor. He joined the KBJR 6 team in June 2016, after previously working at KTTC. 

Prior to joining the KBJR 6 team, he worked at KTTC in Rochester for 5 years, and while he was at the station, he served as morning anchor and producer. He attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he graduated proudly and later on, he was able to secure his first job at KETV in Omaha where he served as a reporter and producer.

In addition, Wolfe is passionate about covering spot/breaking news and he extensively reported on the massive 2011 Missouri River flood that devastated the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. He was among the first reporters on the scene in Mapleton, Iowa after it was hit by a large tornado. For almost seven consecutive hours, he was live on air while covering April 2018, Husky refinery explosion.

Furthermore, Wolfe is passionate about politics and he covered Presidents Obama, Trump, and Biden’s visits to both Wisconsin and Minnesota. He also did an exclusive, one-on-one interview with then-Vice President Mike Pence in August 2020, during Pence’s visit to Duluth. Furthermore, together with photographer Alex Laitala, they spent two nights of winter camping in the Boundary Waters in February 2021.

Their story won a regional Murrow award, and he has also received a number of regional Emmy awards. During his leisure time, he enjoys visiting backwoods trails with his Australian Shepherd Louie, hiking, canoeing, and fishing on lakes across Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin.
