Dave Aguilera is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Meteorologist/Reporter/Anchor working for CBS 4 News KCNC-TV where he serves the station as a Meteorologist and Reporter. He has been working for the station in Denver. Colorado since the year 1993.

He is a proud graduate of Colorado State University/Pueblo(formerly University of Southern Colorado) where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication and Journalism in the year 1987. After his graduation, he found his direction shifting and his interests were definitely looking up. Aguilera has always wanted to know what is in the sky. He, therefore, went on to join Mississippi State University where he obtained a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology.

Aguilera works with KCNC CBS4 News where he serves the station as a Reporter and Meteorologist. The Emmy-Award-Winning Meteorologist has worked in every television market in the state and has been at CBS4 for a long time since the year 1993. Having lived through and reported on many major weather events, which include everything from droughts and floods, to blizzards and tornadoes, he has seen how the weather deeply affects people. Asides from this, he has been a TV and Radio broadcaster in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region since the year 1986.
He happens to be an optimist which is a good thing to be when people tend to blame him for the bad weather. Dave states that no matter what the sky is doing, he looks forward to coming to work and he always tries to bring a little sunshine into the lives of his audience no matter what it’s doing outside.
He had always had the desire to work in television since his senior year in high school. He, however, assumed it would be delivering news. Dave holds the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist(CBM) designation, professional recognition of the quality of his weather broadcasts. He states that among radio and television meteorologists, the CBM designation is sought as a mark of distinction and recognition.
Aguilera is a proud member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society and also holds the Television Seal of Approval from both organizations. Asides from this, he has worked as a weather anchor at KRQE-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Besides this, he has worked with KOAA-TV in Pueblo/Colorado Springs, Colorado, and KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado. Besides this, he has worked as a news reporter and anchor for KHOW-Radio and KOA-Radio in Denver. This is in addition to working as a Disc Jockey for KCCY, KRYT, and KDZA in Pueblo.
The month of September 1993 saw him accomplish the goal he had set for himself in college by joining CBS4 as a Meteorologist. Besides this, he has spent a lot of his time every year teaching thousands of elementary school children across the Front Range. This was while encouraging students to become part of the CBS 4 team by becoming Junior Weather Watchers. He also participates in and emcees numerous fundraising events for nonprofit groups throughout the year. Dave states that he feels the community has given him so much and this is his way to give back.
He was also inducted into the Pueblo South High School Hall of Fame for his work in broadcasting and helping the community. Dave states that his hopes for the future are to continue to work for CBS4. While living in Denver, which he thinks is the “greatest city in the country” he enjoys skiing when it’s snowing, racquetball, coaching his kids’ soccer and basketball teams in between, and playing golf when the weather is nice.
Aguilera states that his role model is his mother and his dream job is to be an Indy race car driver. He states that what keeps him in Colorado is that Colorado is home as he was born and raised there. His favorite musician happens to be John Mellencamp and Carlos Santana. On the other hand, his favorite Sports team happens to be Denver Broncos. His favorite Vacation Spot is Disney World and his favorite word is Graupel. He states that his favorite noise is rain on the roof.
