Dave Dierks Biography

Dave Dierks is an American meteorologist working at WCYB-TV where he serves as the chief meteorologist.  He joined WCYB as Chief Meteorologist in 1987.

Dierks has worked in the Tri-Cities for over 25 years, and he has fond memories of his childhood days in the small farming community of Traer, Iowa. He became interested in the weather after a tornado siren sounded one summer evening while he was a child. Later on, he decided to study meteorology at Iowa State University where he earned a degree in meteorology and a minor in mass communications.

In addition, while he was in college, he also worked at WOI-TV in Ames/Des Moines where he served as a morning meteorologist and not long after, he also worked at KCCI-TV in Des Moines where he was an on-air meteorologist. For over 20 years, Dave has been sharpening his skills and what interests him about the Tri-Cities region is the beauty of the mountains and the hospitable folks who have made him feel at home.
