Jones attended The Villages Charter High School in 2012 where he attained a diploma in 2016. He was also a member of the Press Club, National Honor Society, and Yearbook Club. While still attending high school, David also studies at Lae-Sumter State College where he graduated in 2016 with an Associate of Arts degree. Before joining WCJB-TV, Jones served as a reporter and camera operator at WUFT-FM in Gainesville Florida. While there, he delivered content for the station as well as worked together with news managers. Previously, he served as an intern at CBS News from May 218 to August 2018. Jones started his broadcasting career as a reporter at WUFT-TV in Gainesville, Florida. He worked for the station for one year from May 2017 to May 2018.
He previously worked for WJXT as an intern from August 2017 to December 2017. Before working at WJXT, David served as a radio reporter assistant at WVLG in Florida. During his tenure there, he created a weekly “teen scene” segment and conducted live interviews with residents.
Apart from working as a journalist, Davis worked at Jos. A. Bank Clothiers where he served as a sales associate from April 2016 to August 2016. While there, he maintained the overall cleanliness of the store and helped sales executives in the sales process. Earlier, Jones served as a server at Olive Garden from March 2015 to May 2016. Prior to working at Olive Garden, he spent one year working at Rialto Theater as a staff member.
