Dawn Timmeney Biography

Dawn Timmeney is an American Anchor & General Assignment Reporter working for FOX 29 since joining the station in January of 2013. She as well co-anchors the FOX 29 News on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Timmeney graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a B.S. in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism. She went to Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, Pa., until 10th grade. Later she then graduated from George School in Newtown, Pa., where she spent her last two years of high school as a boarding student.

Before joining FOX 29, she spent twelve years as an anchor at NBC-10 in Philadelphia, where she won an Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Broadcast. An avid animal lover, Timmeney as well hosted and co-produced “Dawn’s Pet Project,” an informative and entertaining weekly show about animals that aired on NBC NonStop on Comcast.

Prior to moving to Philadelphia, Timmeney anchored at WBRE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She co-anchored the 11 p.m., 6 p.m., and 5 p.m. news, with the 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., winning Emmy Awards for Best Newscast. She kicked off her television career as an anchor and reporter for two years at WFMZ-TV in Allentown, Pa.

Timmeney is an Honorary Board Member of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation, besides the “Little Smiles” organization. She is as well a huge education advocate and a former member of the Board of Trustees for Community Partnership School.
