Scott Williams Biography

Scott Williams is an American Emmy Award-winning Meteorologist / Weather Anchor working for FOX 29 Since joining the station in 2012. He attended North Carolina State University where he studied meteorology and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Scott Williams Career

Prior to joining FOX 29, Williams spent three years at The Weather Channel in Atlanta covering weather across the country. He started his career in Texas and has also worked in South Carolina. An Emmy Award-winning meteorologist, he holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal (CBM) from the American Meteorological Society.

This is the highest certification awarded to broadcast meteorologists. He as well holds the seal of approval from the (NWA) National Weather Association. Williams’ passion for meteorology dates back to his childhood in South Carolina. He is a Hurricane Hugo survivor and has been interested in weather ever since and knew that weather was the career for him.

Williams as well taught meteorology to academically gifted students as a part of the talent identification program for Duke University. When he is not working, he likes visiting schools to talk about the weather along with volunteering in the community. He also enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and fishing. Williams is a self-proclaimed foodie, he likes scoping out Philadelphia area restaurants.

She as well earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism.

Before working as a reporter with 11 Alive, the NBC station in Atlanta, Ga., she was a general assignment reporter with Fox 26 KRIV in Houston for two years and also worked at WPHL 17 in Philadelphia for Tribune Broadcasting’s morning show Eye Opener. She credits the Emma Bowen Foundation, which was a six-summer internship program, for helping her realize her professional passion.
