Debra Morgan Biography
Debra Morgan is an American Emmy-Award-Winner Reporter/Anchor working for WRAL-TV where she serves the station as an Anchor since the year 1993. Prior to this, he was working in Jacksonville, Florida where he was serving the station as a Reporter where he served the station between 1990 and 1993.

She is a proud graduate of the University of Miami. There, she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications and Psychology. There, she graduated Magma Cum Laude in the year 1988.

Morgan works for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina where she serves the station as an Anchor. He has also previously worked in Toledo, Ohio, where he worked for the station between 1988 and 1990. He is a ten-time Emmy award winner and a 2017 NC Association of Broadcasters Anchor of the Year. Asides from this, he was also named the 2015 RTDNAC Anchor of The Year.
She explains that it is the responsibility of journalists to present factual, interesting, objecting, relevant information as quickly and accurately as possible. He explains that some news isn’t always pleasant to hear but not providing that news would be a disservice. Morgan states that she enjoys it when they can have fun providing the light-hearted stories of the day.
The year 2006 saw her being made the Five Star Award(WRAL Employee of the Year and also won the Women of Achievement Award in Journalism from the North Carolina Woman’s Club. Asides from this, she is also the Leadership Triangle Graduate. Away from work, he has participated in JDRF(Triangle Chapter), American Heart Association, Caring Community Foundation, Methodist Home for Children, ALS Association (Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter), and Dorcas Ministries. She also participated in Pretty in Pink and Dress for Success.
She explains that what she loves most about North Carolina is the weather except it gets too cold. Asides from this, what he loves most about the area is the warm people who have made him feel like the area is home. Among her most memorable assignments include reporting for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. She also loved being in Paris to cover the aftermath of the terrorist attacks and explain that it was powerful. Asides from this, he has also spent a day at the White House which included interviewing President Obama. His initiation into ACC basketball was memorable, doing live reports covered in beer. This includes Franklin Street when UNC won it all in 1993.
Morgan explains that while trying to get an interview with one of the suspects in the slaying of Michael Jordan’s father and the suspect’s father fired a gun at us. While being in the eye of Hurricane Bertha when it hit Wrightsville Beach made him appreciate the ferocity of such storms.
He explains that it was a thrill to cover the Carolina Hurricanes in the year 2006 from Canada to Raleigh for the ultimate winner of the Stanley Cup. He also enjoyed reporting on Garner’s own Scotty McCreery from the top 50 to the eventual winner of American Idol in Los Angeles.
