Diaz attended Coral Gables High School where she graduated as the top student in her class. The Gablettes were part of the National Champion Dance Team in high school. She began her career at WUFT-TV in Gainesville and won the “Best Newscast Award” from the Regional Broadcasters Association when anchoring at WWCI-TV in Vero Beach. She was delighted when, as a reporter, she became part of the 7 News team where she covered breaking local news and flew around the country and overseas with major national and foreign reports.
On the road, she had unique conversations with newsmakers, politicians, and interviews with presidents and celebrities. She was the co-host of the popular entertainment show WSVN, Deco Drive, where she dished on the entertainment headlines of the day before making the move to bring news, fun, and entertainment to start people’s day in Florida today.
In her homeland, Diana feels fortunate to survive and be able to give back. She donates her time to many local charities and is involved with the American Nicaraguan Foundation, which provides children and families in her native Nicaragua with food, housing, and education. She has also gone to Central America on many mission and medical mission trips and was 1 of 5 Nicaraguans identified as “Nicaraguans Who Shine Outside the Country.”
Diaz is a frequent performer in her spare time in Fam Jamz, a kids’ comical and virtue-based theater show. She coaches community cheer and dance as well. She doesn’t cook, but she loves to enjoy the cooking of other people, which is part of why you can catch her in fitness classes around South Florida, where she loves to do anything from Cross Fit to the Bar Process.
