Drew Amman Biography

Drew Amman is an American journalist working for WLEX/LEX18 as an anchor and reporter since joining the station in June 2024. Previously, he worked at ESP Media in Cincinnati, Ohio as a freelance play-by-play announcer for nearly 2 years.

Amman works for WLEX/LEX18 as an anchor and reporter. He is no stranger to the Commonwealth region, as he worked in Bowling Green from 1999 to 2003. In this role, he went on assignments in Lexington to broadcast on several occasions.

Amman previously worked at ESP Media in Cincinnati, Ohio as a freelance play-by-play announcer for nearly 2 years. In this role, he delivered play-by-play and analyzed basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, football, baseball, wrestling, bowling, and lacrosse. Amman worked in Cincinnati, Ohio at FOX19 WXIX as a reporter before he moved to Kentucky. There, he was a fill-in as an anchor for traffic, sports, and news. There, he covered huge stories such as the 2020 Brent Spence Bridge fiery crash and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Super Bowl Run in the 2021 season.

Amman worked as the lead sports anchor at KARK/KNWA/KFTA in Arkansas for over 5 years before his move to Cincinnati. He has worked in the broadcasting industry for over 25 years and is passionate about storytelling, solving problems, and shedding light on the people who positively impact the community. He is active in the community, serving the Heart of Gold Memorial Fund, a non-profit that raises money for cancer and heart disease research. Amman looks forward to linking with similar organizations in Lexington.
