Elizabeth Gardner is an American Meteorologist working for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina where she serves the station as a Weather Anchor and Reporter. She has been working with the station since the year 1998.

She is a proud graduate of Mississippi State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geosciences in the year 1997. Elizabeth is also a proud graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism in the year 1989. Gardner also attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh in the year 1987.

Gardner works with WRAL-TV where she serves the station as a Meteorologist. Prior to WRAL-TV, she was working with KXLY-TV in Spokane, Washington where she was serving the station as a weather anchor. She worked with the station between 1995 and 1998. Gardner has also worked with WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina where she was serving the station as a Meteorologist. She worked for the station between 1994 and 1995. Asides from this, she has also worked with WGHP-TV in High Point, North Carolina where she was serving the station as a Reporter. She worked with the station between 1990 and 1994.
In the course of her career, she received a Regional Emmy Award for Best Weathercast in the year 2001. Asides from this, she has also been nominated for the Emmys while working as Weather Anchor in the year 1998. She has also received a Certified Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society. This is in addition to receiving the National Weather Seal of Approval.
Every hurricane I’ve covered. Hurricane Bonnie in 1998 was the first. I remember losing power in the hotel and the roof shingles blowing off. We were a little wet even inside but we were fine. The next year it was Hurricane Floyd. We spent the night on an office building floor near Charleston. I remember how hard it was to find a road that wasn’t flooded on our drive back to Raleigh.
Among the most memorable assignments of her career include covering Hurricane Bonnie in the year 1998 which was the first she covered. She states that she remembers losing power in the hotel and the roof shingles blowing off. Asides from this, she explains that they were a little wet even inside but were fine.
Away from work, she enjoys whitewater kayaking, snowboarding, Mountain biking, hiking, and reading. She is a proud member of the Junior League of Raleigh and a member of the Carolina Canoe Club. Asides from this, she is a board member of the Raleigh Parks and Recreation System Plan. She states that what she loves most about North Carolina is living in many other parts of the country and is very happy to be here. Gardner explains that North Carolina has very friendly people and explains that it is beautiful and diverse. She also states that she makes a great playground and can spend one weekend at the beach paddleboarding and the next weekend in the mountains snowboarding.
