Emily Goodman Biography

Emily Goodman is an American meteorologist working at LEX 18 in Lexington, Kentucky where she served as a weekend evening meteorologist. Previously she was working at WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Emily was born and brought up in Bluegrass, Mt. Vernon and she set her mind on becoming a meteorologist from a young age, however, there was no specific event that led to her pursuing weather. She joined the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Later on, she also studied at Mississippi State University where she graduated with a master’s degree in Geosciences with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology. In addition, while she was in Mississippi, she spent her leisure time chasing storms in Dixie Alley. She was also a member of the 3-year winning forecasting competition team at State thus preparing her for her career as a meteorologist.

Over the years, she has worked in television at; WYMT in Hazard, WNKY in Bowling Green, and WVLT in Knoxville, Tennessee. After working at WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia as a morning meteorologist for 4 years. Together with her husband, Ed Goodman, they enjoy walking in local parks, trying all kinds of restaurants, and cheering on their beloved UK Wildcats during their leisure time.
