Emily Goodman Biography
Emily Goodman is an American meteorologist currently working at LEX 18 Lexington, Kentucky. She serves as the LEX 18 weekend evening meteorologist on Saturday and Sunday. Previously she was working at WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Emily Goodman Career
Goodman is the newest member of the LEX 18 StormTracker weather team. She developed a passion for weather ever since she was young, knew that she wanted to become a meteorologist. There is no distinct event that led to her pursuing weather.
She is a proud graduate of the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where she earned her Bachelors’s degree. Later she headed to Mississippi State University and earned a Masters’ degree in Geosciences with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology.
In the course of her time in Mississippi, spent some of her leisure storm-chasing in Dixie Alley. She was a member of the 3-year winning forecasting competition team at State which prepared her for what she does daily now.
Goodman has served in television stations including at WYMT in Hazard, at WVLT in Knoxville, TN, as well as at WNKY in Bowling Green. Then she came back to Lexington from working at WTRF in Wheeling, West Virginia as a morning meteorologist for 4 years time.
During her free time, she enjoys her time together with her husband, walking in local parks, cheering on their beloved UK Wildcats, as well as trying all kinds of restaurants. They are both happy to be back home in #BBN.
