In 2019, he traveled to South Texas where he located the authentic birth records of a Minnesota Marine veteran after his government challenged his citizenship and denied his application for a passport. Rasmussen has won multiple regional Murrow and Emmy awards for his journalism work including, “Outstanding Reporter” in the Upper Midwest in 2019 and “Outstanding Investigative Reporter” in New England in 2018. When he is not reporting, he works behind the turntables pursuing his other passion as a DJ.
