Matt Serwe Biography
Matt Serwe is an eminent Certified American Meteorologist working for KSTP. He joined the KSTP 5 Eyewitness News weather team in October 2021. Prior to working in the Twin Cities, he worked for KETV in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to his love for weather, he also is extreme and passionate about music and has traveled extensively across the country to see his favorite artists and bands.

He works at KSTP as a meteorologist. He joined the 5 Eyewitness News Weather team in October 2021. Prior to working at KSTP, he worked for KETV where he served on the First News crew joining them in November 2012 for nine years. While at KETV, his greatest weather memories include being hit with a baseball-sized hailstone in Madison and running through the snow-covered streets of Rhinelander to get to work during a blizzard. Also, he is an avid storm chaser but he has never had the opportunity to see a tornado in person. He was part of a forecasting team that covered the twin EF-4 tornadoes in Pilger, Nebraska, and the catastrophic spring floods of 2019.
Matt started his meteorological career at WJFW in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, U.S.A. where he worked for three years as the morning meteorologist. Music being his passion, he traveled extensively across the country to see his favorite artists and bands. And chances are you can see him bobbing up and down to the music at a number of venues across the metro. He is a Packers, Badgers, Bucks, and Brewers fan and he hopes to enjoy all the sports the Twin Cities has to offer. Friendly rivalries are always welcomed.
