Glenn Burns is a well-reputed retired American Journalist who most recently worked for WSB-TV as the Chief Meteorologist. He held this position for over four decades. He announced his retirement in October 2022, and his last day was on November 22, 2022. There, he appeared on the 4 and 6 p.m. newscasts Monday to Friday. Now he serves as Chief Meteorologist Emeritus and joins Channel 2 Action News and Severe Weather Team 2 for special weather coverage and programs throughout the year. He is an AMS Certified Meteorologist.

He began his broadcasting career at the age of 14, working part-time for WSVN-TV in Miami. After graduating from the university, he interned at the National Hurricane Center in Miami, working with Dr. Neil Frank and Dr. Joseph Pellissier. From there, he went on to work in West Palm Beach, Florida for WPTV-TV as Chief Meteorologist.
After working for three years in Florida, he began his post-graduate work in astrophysics at the University of Minnesota, while working as Chief Meteorologist for KARE-TV in Minneapolis. During that time, he won many awards including the Minnesota Teacher’s Award for a program that involves students, teachers, and KARE-TV in a weather education series. Eventually, that program evolved into a weather school. Moreover, he has received numerous awards from the Red Cross, Civil Defense, and Coast Guard, Best of Cobb Magazine and Best of Atlanta Magazine, Associated Press, and Best of Ginwett Magazine for his weather coverage. He also works for many area charities including the March of Dimes, Boys and Girls of Metro Atlanta, The Centre for Family Resources, and the Starlight Foundation.
