Broadcasting the western Pennsylvania flood of 2004 serves among the most memorable stories in his career. He and his photographer watched as a deaf and physically impaired woman trapped in her car in floodwaters was rescued by a police sergeant who couldn’t swim.

Over the last 20 years, he has broadcasted some of the biggest stories in Pittsburgh. For instance, he anchored live when the Fern Hollow Bridge collapsed and the mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue.

He reported live during the aftermath of disasters such as tornadoes, floods, winter storms, house explosions, and presidential visits. Further, he broadcasted gubernatorial and U.S. Senate election night results in Harrisburg, Allentown, York, and Philadelphia, and the New Hampshire Presidential Primary.

During the lethal Amtrak train collision and the Virginia Tech shooting massacre, he was in Philadelphia. Loesch served among the initial reporters on the scene during the LA Fitness shooting splurge and the Sago mine disaster. He was reporting from the streets during the G-20 protests.

Also, he went to Vatican City where he broadcasted the demise of Pope John Paul II and reported on Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Washington D.C.
