Cara Sapida is an American journalist working for WPXI as a reporter. She joined the station in April 2009 and has served the station for more than a decade. Previously, she worked for NBC-2 in Fort Myers, Florida as an anchor and reporter for 3 years.

Sapida attended Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism after completing her high school education at Woodland Hills High School. When she finished he studies, she became a graduate and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism as well as minors in French and Political Science.

Further, she worked for NBC25 in Hagerstown, Maryland as an anchor and reporter. Her broadcasting career began when she worked for WOUB in Athens, Ohio as a reporter and anchor. She received an Edward R. Murrow award for Best Feature Story.
Also, she received an Associated Press award for a tornado broadcast. During her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, or she’s at the kitchen. In 2010, she starred in the Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.

Cara Sapida Cancer
Sapida discovered a lump in her breast in June 2020. Further, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. In October 2019, she had no tumor during a mammogram. However, in just a few weeks a tumor had grown and doubled in size.
She underwent chemotherapy as well as an immunotherapy drug trial for 12 weeks, four more drug treatments followed by a double mastectomy. A while later, she received a call from a doctor who told her she was cancer-free.
