Greg Copeland Career
Copeland serves as a reporter as well as an anchor at KING 5. He had also worked for other stations prior to joining KING 5. For instance, he previously worked for NorthWest Cable News where he served as an anchor as well as a reporter from September 1996 to August 2013 in Seattle, Portland, and Boise. While here, he enclosed Washington, Oregon, and Idaho on a wide range of issues including business, the economy, education, politics, veterans, and military affairs. He also edited and shot stories with professional equipment, and is proficient in Lakana(CMS), ENPS, Microsoft Programs, INEWS, and Wondershare Filmora editing. From March 1996 to September 1996, he was working at NCN where he served as a reporter as well as an anchor.
He’s lived in Seattle his entire life and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He went to WSU in Pullman after graduating from Peninsula High School in 1990 to pursue a career in broadcasting. In September 1996, he got his foot in the door at Northwest Cable News. He moved to the Seattle area to report and anchor on weekends after spending a year covering stories in Boise and another two years in Portland.
A few years later, he began co-anchoring weekday mornings on NWCN with Cam Johnson, a position he held for eight years. Eventually, KING 5 gave me the opportunity to anchor the News at Noon, and he has worked in a variety of roles for the past ten years. He’s probably working on something when he’s not working. He enjoys building, repairing, and learning. A good day frequently includes the use of a chainsaw or other power tools.
