Stephanie Scurlock is an American Emmy Award-winning Anchor/Reporter working with WREG3-TV where she has been serving the station as a reporter since July of the year 1991. There she anchors the news at 5, 6, and 10 every weekday. 

Stephanie Scurlock Career

Scurlock works with News Channel 3(WREG-TV) where she serves the station as an anchor for the news at 5, 6, and 10. Scurlock attended the University of Central Arkansas at Conway where she obtained a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She enjoys connecting with viewers through social media. Stephanie can often be found juggling Facebook Love and anchoring news simultaneously. She joined the station in July 1991 and works as a reporter.

Stephanie counts among her blessings the opportunities she has had to use her profession to help those in need. Additionally, she has covered stories all over the Mid-South. Additionally, her reporting duties have taken her as far as the continent of Africa. She has traveled with the Tennessee Air National Guard to Dakar, Senegal to report on a humanitarian mission.

The plane was piloted by an All-African American crew that took clothes, computers, and school supplies, among other necessities to children who lived in the country. Upon her return, Stephanie also assisted in helping a man bring his sick wife and children from Senegal to Memphis so she could receive medical treatment.

She is the only Memphis reporter to cover the case of the West Memphis 3 from the time of their arrests and convictions in the year 1994 until their release 18 years later. She received a Regional Emmy for her work on WREG’s Memphis on a Mission project. Additionally, she also profiled the plight of Memphians in their efforts to overcome poverty and crime in their neighborhoods.

She has also been recognized by the TN Associated Press. Additionally, the organization also awarded her Best Enterprise for her exclusive story following the difficulties of a man fighting off a drug addiction. She has also worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis in the Department of Journalism.

She also serves as a board member for RISE, which is a charitable organization that helps Memphians achieve financial self-sufficiency. Additionally, she serves as Honorary Chair of the NAACP Membership Campaign. She has also previously worked for KTAL-TV located in Texarkana, Texas prior to joining News Channel 3.

She is a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Memphis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Additionally, she is also a proud member of Incorporated, Inc., and The Links.
