Ibrahim Samra is an American Emmy-nominated anchor/reporter and multi-media journalist working at CBS Detroit in Michigan as a news reporter. Before joining CBS Detroit, he worked for WNDU from December 2018 to September 2022. Before that worked at Frequency TV where he served as a sports broadcaster in 2017.
Samra attended Columbia College Chicago where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While he studied at Columbia College Chicago, he interned at NBC Sports Chicago and Foodseum Chicago, and he worked as the best researcher alongside Chicago Magazine.
He is a recipient of a scholarship for all four years he was at Columbia College Chicago. In addition, he has reported on a number of important stories such as; the Laquan McDonald protests, the NFL Draft, the Laquan McDonald protests, the Mayoral Election, and the Chicago Cubs World Series.
Furthermore, Samra has had the opportunity to meet Bears legend, Mike Ditka, and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and worked alongside ABC 7 Chicago’s Steve Dolinsky. During his leisure time, he enjoys playing basketball, working out at a local gym, hanging out with family, and the kitchen eating.
