Matt Engelbrecht Biography
Matt Engelbrecht is an American meteorologist working at WNDU where he serves as the chief meteorologist, a position he took up in April 2015. He joined the WNDU weather team in July 2010, as a meteorologist.

In 2000, he joined Lake Orion High School where he graduated in 2004. Later in 2008, he joined Valparaiso University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in meteorology in 2012.

Engelbrecht works at WNDU where he serves as the chief meteorologist. He interned at WJBK in Detroit under Richard Luterman and learned the television basics from his high school TPW teacher Roger Smith. He has been able to establish a strong journalism foundation over the years. While he attended Valparaiso University, he learned about the business firsthand from current ABC News meteorologist Ginger Zee. In addition, whenever he was not deriving the Omega equation, he would be found chasing storms and tornadoes for the Valparaiso University Storm Intercept team or broadcasting Valpo athletics for WVUR, which was the college radio station.
Furthermore, Engelbrecht has learned the importance of experiencing different places and cultures as he has seen the wine in Paris, the cruising of the Greek Islands, and the deadly heights at the Cliffs of Moher. Whenever he is not at work, he enjoys watching Notre Dame Football or any of the Detroit sports teams. He has also been in a band called the DCE and hopefully, he will one day reunite with the bass guitar at hand.
