Jake Dunne Biography

Jake Dunne is an American meteorologist working at KWCH 12 where he serves as a morning meteorologist. He joined KWCH 12 in July 2019, after previously working at WPMI-TV where he was a morning and noon meteorologist.  

In 1994, Dunne joined Wichita State University where he graduated with an associate’s degree in communication and media studies in 1998. Later on, he studied at Mississippi State University earning a Bachelor of Science in meteorology and broadcast journalism in 1999. In addition, he went back to Mississippi State University in 2014 where he earned a Master of Science in applied meteorology in 2017.

Dunne works at KWCH 12 where he serves as the morning meteorologist. He has served as a meteorologist for over 20 years in Michigan, South Carolina, Wyoming, and Iowa, and not long ago, he worked in Alabama for almost 4 years at WPMI TV, and NBC 15 as a morning and noon meteorologist. He has taught in a number of college-level meteorology classes and he is looking forward to adding a college professor to his résumé. In addition, he has not only won awards for his forecasts, but also earned the AMS Seal of Approval that was presented to him in 2003. During his spare time, he enjoys working with local charities such as the National MS Society and the MDA which have recognized him for his time and devotion to their organizations.
