Jeannie Blaylock is an American Anchor working with First Coast News at WTLV/WJXX in Jacksonville, Florida where she serves the station as a weekday co-anchor alongside Shannon Ogden. Asides from that, she also works as a reporter for “Healthwatch.” There, she co-anchors First Coast News’ weeknight newscasts at 5 and 6 PM.

Blaylock received the valedictorian award at Cape Central High School in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with a BA and triple major in English, communication, and art. Blaylock received her summa cum laude diploma in 1982 and completed a portion of her undergraduate studies at Oxford University in Oxford, England. She also attended the BBC in London.

Blaylock explains that she wanted to change this, and teamed up with Baptist Health and MD Anderson and has also raised more than a million dollars to purchase the “Buddy Bus,” a mobile mammography unit. She has also inspired dozens of cities across the United States to copy Buddy Check 12 and motivate women to catch breast cancer early.

She states that she believes in working to help the community. The year 2014 saw her “Apple Project” help her build a free dental clinic on Timuquana Road. Asides from this, she was also the first reporter on the First Coast News team to focus on K9s For Warriors. This trains service dogs to help veterans manage their PTSD. She has shown the group has a 99% success rate in preventing suicides.

In her journalism work, he has taken to several other countries. Her reports from Haiti inspired donations for earthquake victims, which resulted in more than a hundred amputees receiving new prosthetic legs. On the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, she also reported live from the Beaches of Normandy. The Schools districts have invited Jeannie to show the First Coast News documentary on D-Day to thousands of students, helping to educate them about the day and its history.
