Jeff Smith is an American meteorologist working at WABC-TV where he serves as a weekend evening meteorologist at 5 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm. He joined the Eyewitness News Team in 2007. 

throughout the week Jeff can be seen reporting for a number of newscasts and keeping viewers informed of threatening weather on social media. Prior to joining WABC-TV, he worked at WTEN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Albany, New York where he served as a meteorologist. Before joining WTEN-TV, he worked at WOAY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Oak Hill, West Virginia where he served as a chief meteorologist. Plymouth, Massachusetts is his native home and while he was there, he gained an interest in meteorology at an early age.

Later on, he worked at Cornell University where he graduated with a major in Atmospheric Science and broadcasting. While he was at Cornell University, he broadcasted live weather forecasts for Newswatch 16 which was the student-run television station at nearby Ithaca College. Furthermore, he earned the American Meteorological Society’s prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation which is a professional recognition of the quality of his weather forecasts.
