Fernandez serves as an anchor and reporter at Local 10 News. She previously worked for WEAR in Pensacola where she served as a fill-in anchor and anchor enclosing breaking news and feature stories. In addition to that, she was also the first reporter to present live reports during historic flooding in April 2014. Furthermore, she also enclosed the funeral of Col. Bud Day, the Escambia County jail explosion, and F-35 training kicking off at Eglin Air Force Base.
Fernandez started her career at KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana where she was a one-man-band fill-in anchor/reporter. She was also nominated for a Suncoast Regional Emmy for her continuing coverage of the murder and disappearance of college student Mickey Shunick. She went to Florida International University where she attained her Bachelor of Science in communications and a minor in psychology in 2010.
Fernandez is also a proud member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and former Miss Miami and placed fourth runner-up at the 2010 Miss Florida Pageant. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She also enjoys trying out new restaurants, reading, traveling, checking out the latest movies, and writing.
