Jessie Slater is an American anchor/reporter known for having worked at KBJR-TV where she served as a weekday lead reporter and evening anchor at 5 pm and 10 pm. She joined the KBJR-TV team in January 2017, as a weekend anchor and producer. Slater resigned from the station in June 2022. In her departure, she stated that she not only departed from KBJR but also took a break from her broadcasting career.
She quit her weekend job in May 2019 and started working as a 5 p.m. anchor and 10 p.m. lead reporter Monday through Friday. Jessie enjoys reporting on the environment and has a weekly section called Your Green Life that airs on Thursdays at 5 p.m. When it comes to Duluth City Council and School Board, she is the lead reporter at KBJR 6.
Jessie attended college in Vermont. She joined the News7 Broadcast Team after graduating from Lyndon State College’s Electronic Journalism Arts program in May 2016. She grew up in the woods of the mountains and enjoys being outside and on the lake.
Lake Superior was a significant draw for her in Duluth, and it’s one of the reasons she’s staying. Friday. She worked as a morning/afternoon news anchor and producer for WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia, after graduating before joining KBJR 6 as a reporter.
