Jim Dickey Biography
Jim Dickey is an American Meteorologist working with ABC7 News where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist since January 2015. He states that he is from Pennsylvania and was born in Pittsburgh and raised on the eastern side of the state in Downington. His interest in meteorology goes way back to his childhood.

In 2006, Jim enrolled at Penn State to pursue a B.S. in Meteorology. As part of the SCEP program, he interned with the National Weather Service in State College, PA. Jim joined AccuWeather Inc. as a Broadcast Meteorologist after graduating with honors in the spring of 2010.

Dickey works with the ABC7 weather team where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist. He states that he started his weather career out of fear of severe weather, borne from a funnel cloud passing over his home at 6 years old. It is this fear that grew into more of a fascination and lifelong pursuit of understanding. He states that his interest only grew through experiencing the impacts of the 1993 Superstorm, Hurricane Floyd in eastern PA, and the Blizzard of 1996.
Upon his graduation, he worked with AccuWeather where he was producing weathercasts for many locations across the United States and the world. Additionally, through AccuWeather, he also served as a Morning Weather Anchor for WVII-TV in Bangor, ME from the year 2012 to 2014. Asides from this, he has also made appearances on a number of cable networks such as Bloomberg, FOX News, HLN, Bloomberg, the Lifetime Network, and Fox Business.
Dickey was awarded the title of Certified Broadcast Meteorology by the American Meteorological Society in October 2013. Away from the weather, he enjoys listening to all genres of music, taking his dog for a walk on a sunny afternoon, traveling to new places, and golfing.
