Joel Brown Biography

Joel Brown is an American News Anchor currently working for ABC11. He anchors the Eyewitness News at 4 p.m. He also reports at 11 p.m. Previously, he was working the network’s affiliate service, as a correspondent for CBS NewsPath, the network’s affiliate service, stationed in Washington.

Brown started his career as a reporter in television at KETK, an NBC affiliate in Tyler, Texas. He worked as the station’s 5:00 education beat reporter and anchor when he left east Texas. He then moved to South Florida, Miami, to work for WSVN, Miami’s innovative Fox affiliate. There, he stayed for 3 years working as a fill-in anchor and a reporter. In 2005, he covered the Terri Schiavo “right to die” case in minute detail. This was his “breakout” story. Still, in the same year, he had an opportunity to cover tropical weather, including the busiest season on record, the ’05 Hurricane season.

Brown has been keeping up with national news stories, across the United States. He spent several weeks on the road covering the historic 2008 presidential election. Also, he covered the final launch of NASA’s space shuttle program live from Kennedy Space Center.
