John Hickey Biography
John Hickey is an American meteorologist working for WNEP. He joined the Stormtracker 16 weather team in January 2017.

Hickey attained his B.S. in Broadcast and Private Industry meteorology from Lyndon State College (now Northern Vermont University – Lyndon) in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom.
John Hickey Career
Hickey is always on air during the weeknights on WNEP at 7 pm and 11 pm and on WNEP2 at 10 pm. He considers himself to be an outdoor cat and that makes forecasting from the backyard more fun than work. His career started when he was hired by WCAX in Burlington, VT while still serving at Lyndon. After his service at WCAX, he moved on to work for WENY, which is based in the Southern Tier of New York where he served as a morning meteorologist and reporter. While at the station, he covered all sorts of weather from flooding of the Susquehanna River in 2011 to the Elmira tornado in 2012, which was back to the Champlain Valley.
He spent three years working for WENY before joining the First Alert Weather team at NBC5 (WPTZ). While working for NBC5 (WPTZ), he served as the weekend morning meteorologist, and started his own cooking series “In The Kitchen.” He also skied/hiked just about every mountain in the Green Mountains and Adirondacks.
Hickey also finds pleasure in doing one of his favorite outdoor activities or rooting for his beloved Boston sports teams. He also loves spending time with his wife and traveling. Lastly, he is very active on his social media platforms including Facebook, and Twitter.
