Kurt Aaron Biography
Kurt Aaron is an American Broadcast meteorologist working for WNEP as the chief meteorologist. He joined the station back in February 2002.

Aaron went to elementary school in Dallas, Pennsylvania, and later, on attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology where he majored in Broadcast Communications. He then wanted to advance his studies and therefore attended Mississippi State University where he studied Broadcast Meteorology.

Aaron is a broadcast meteorologist who moved to Texas in the mid-90s and other News Anchors found it difficult to correctly pronounce his last name, which is pronounced “care – ick – ner”. While still in high school, he played several sports and was involved in many school activities. He also worked in radio in the Williamsport area while going to school and that was his part-time job.
During his college days, he interned at WNEP and was able to learn a lot of things as an intern. He received an academic excellence award in broadcasting. He also continued to work part-time in radio while attending college and this helped a lot in sharpening his skills. Aaron then worked in Williamsport whereby he hosted a morning radio show on 103.9 Hot-FM right after college. He then accepted his first television job at WENY-TV in Elmira, NY. His love for weather started developing when he was still working for WENY-TV and decided to go back to college and study Broadcast meteorology.
For the first time, he was hired as a meteorologist at KRIS-TV in Corpus Christi, Texas. He served as a meteorologist in the station for two successful years in Corpus Christi before moving to KBMT-TV in Beaumont, Texas. While at KBMT-TV, he served as the Morning Meteorologist prior to returning to Northeast PA in February 2002, when Kurt began working at WNEP-TV.
