Joi Dukes Biography

Joi Dukes is an American reporter and multimedia journalist working at FOX 5 Atlanta. She joined FOX 5 Atlanta team in April 2022, after previously working at WRCB-TV in Chattanooga, Tennessee where she served as an anchor and reporter.

She is a proud graduate of Fulton County, Gwinnett County, and Atlanta Public Schools. In 2012, she joined Florida State University where she graduated in 2016, with a degree in Mass Media/Communications and a minor in Journalism.

Dukes works at FOX 5 Atlanta where she serves as a reporter and multimedia journalist. Prior to joining the FOX 5 Atlanta team, she worked in Chattanooga, Tennessee at WRCB where she served as a  weekend evening anchor/reporter for three years.

While she worked at WRCB, she covered notable stories with nationwide impact such as former President Trump’s final campaign visit to the Peach State ad the 2020 historic presidential election in Georgia. In addition, she began her career at 41NBC in Macon where she served as a multimedia journalist and while she was there, she led the coverage of Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial race and the Georgia General Assembly.

Furthermore, she also broke the story of Fort Valley State University’s sorority sexual misconduct investigation. Her motto while serving as a journalist is coverage with compassion. Joi is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and she was featured in filmmaker Bill Duke’s book entitled Dark Girls, which is a companion to the 2011 documentary that explored the damage in the Black community against darker-skinned women. During her downtime, she enjoys watching a documentary, hanging out with friends, and working out at the gym.
