Jon Decker is an American journalist working for WECT-TV serving as a senior national editor and White House correspondent. Previously, Jon worked as a White House correspondent for Fox News Radio.

After graduating from high school, Jonh enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a Master’s degree in International Relations. During his time at the University, he worked for Wall Street as a financial analyst before later serving as an aide to U.S. Senator John Heinz of Pennsylvania. Later on, Jon attended George Washington University Law School where he earned a Juris Doctor as well as studied abroad in Paris where he learned international law at the Sorbonne.

Decker serves as a senior National Editor and White House Correspondent at WECT-TV in Washington, D.C. In 1995, he joined the White House Press Corps team where he has been serving for decades. As a White House Press, Decker has covered major breaking news including the government shutdown and the U.S. presidential election in 1996.
While still working for WECT-TV, Jon worked for PBS TV as a producer and reporter. While there, he hosted several shows such as “This Week in Business” and “Nightly Business Report”. Previously, he worked as a White House correspondent at Fox News Radio. Before working at Fox News Radio, Decker worked for SiriusXM Radio and Reuters Television as a White House correspondent.
Prior to working for Reuters TV, Jon worked for WTVJ, the NBC affiliate in Miami where he served as a reporter. During his time at WTVJ, he covered extensive news including Hurricane Andrew, the Major League Baseball strike, and reported from Haiti and Cuba. Before that, Decker served as a correspondent at NBC Radio in Miami, Florida. Jon began his career as a radio presenter in Pennsylvania as well as worked for CNN Headline News as an anchor.
Throughout his career as a journalist, Jon has covered major high-profit news including the the impeachment of both President Trump and President Clinton, the State of the Union Addresses, and seven Presidential elections. On top of this, he also reported on the Obama, Biden, Bush, Trump, and Clinton Administrations. Decker also worked as a Commentator on the Tennis Channel where he covered all four tennis Grand Slams. Moreover, he has traveled all over the world in coverage of news in countries such as London, Jerusalem, Athens, Beijing, and Puerto Rico.
Aside from working as a journalist, Decker also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the UCLA School of Law and the faculty of Georgetown University. He also works for the McCain Institute as a Media Fellow as well as a lawyer in the White House Press Corps team. Additionally, Jon is a board of Governors of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and a member of the Washington, DC Bar.
