Josh Einiger Biography

Josh Einiger is an American Emmy award-winning reporter working at WABC-TV where he covered the Tri-state’s biggest stories. He joined WABC-TV as a reporter in September 2009, after previously working at Fox News Channel where he was a freelance correspondent.

In 1982, he joined Horace Mann School where he graduated in 1996. Later on, he joined the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated in 2000, with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history.

Einiger works at WABC-TV where he covered the Tri-state’s biggest stories. While working at WABC, he reported on the world’s biggest news events including hurricanes in Florida, Puerto, and Texas, and mass shootings in Orlando, Florida, and Parkland. Einiger also covered the inferno at Notre Dame in Paris and the concert bombing in Manchester, England. For his coverage of the Trump Administration’s separation policy at the Mexico border, he won an Emmy award and he reported extensively on the Trump presidency from Washington. Einiger was also present during the Boston Marathon bomber.

In addition, he also won an Emmy award for covering the fatal crash of a helicopter in the East River and a terror attack on a Manhattan bike path. He has also chronicled the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy and many other severe weather events in New York and beyond. While serving as WABC long island reporter, he covered the search for a serial killer near Gilgo Beach. Prior to joining WABC, he worked in Albany, Philadelphia, and Orlando and as a freelancer as a national correspondent for Fox News affiliates.

Einiger began his career in Philadelphia and New York where he worked behind the scenes as a photographer, assignment editor, and field producer. Manhattan is his native home and he was brought up watching Eyewitness News. During his free time, he enjoys boarding a plane to explore the world and cycling around Central Park.
