Jude Redfield Biography
Jude Redfield is an American Meteorologist working with WDRB-TV where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist. Redfield is a Western Kentucky University graduate. He has a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology/Geography as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. When he was in elementary school, winter weather piqued his interest in meteorology.
Jude Redfield Career
Redfield works with WDRB-TV where he serves the station as a Morning Meteorologist. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist(CBM) which he received from the American Meteorological Society and also holds a seal of approval from the National Weather Association. Prior to WDRB-TV, he was working with WTHR-TV in Indianapolis. Redfield also anchored the midday weather along with co-anchoring the 5, 5:30, and 6 PM weather. Prior to this, he was also working in Cincinnati for about three years.
Previously, he also gained experience working as a meteorologist for WVEC-TV in Norfolk, WSIL in Harrisburg, Illinois, and WKAG in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. His experience covering tornadoes and snowstorms in the Ohio Valley and his knowledge of the geography of the region are significant given that he both grew up and worked in the Cincinnati area and comes to us from Indianapolis.
While covering winter storms, he also finds most challenging, but most exciting. Winter weather sparked his curiosity about meteorology when he was in grade school. He states that he has a love for winter weather. Redfield is also a recipient of the Emmy Awards of the years 2006 and 2007 for Best Weather Anchor and also won an Emmy in the year 2008 for Best Weathercast. Asides from this, he was also the 2010 National Headliner Winter for “Into the Vortex.”
