Karen Drew Biography

Karen Drew is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter working at WDIV as a weekday anchor and investigative reporter. Prior to joining the Local 4 team, she worked at WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida.

Drew works at WDIV as a weekday anchor and investigative reporter. In this role, she anchors Monday through Friday on Local 4 News. She was brought up in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. During her childhood days, she told her high school classmates that she desired to become a television reporter, and she did pursue her dream. Her classmates nominated her as the Class Clown, and her co-workers at WDIV vouch for her as a hard however, she is also behind the scenes of many pranks in the newsroom.

Drew began her career in Dickinson, North Dakota, where she was a one-man band as she shot stories, wrote, edited, and anchored the newscasts all by herself. Furthermore, she relocated to Montgomery, Alabama where she worked at WHOA-TV, and later to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she worked at WTVC-TV. Drew also worked at WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, before she finally came to WDIV-TV.

Over the years, Drew has won a number of awards such as an Emmy award from the Society of Professional Journalists and from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. She has also received awards and recognitions from a number of non-profits she works with while volunteering her time.
