Katie Collett is an American Anchor working at WAVY where she serves as the morning anchor from 4:30 am to 7 am and the noon anchor from 12 pm to 1 pm. She joined the WAVY-TV 10/FOX 43 News team in August of 2007.

Collett works at WAVY-TV where she served as the morning anchor from 4:30 am to 7 am and the noon anchor from 12 pm to 1 pm. When she joined WAVY, she served as a weekend reporter before she was promoted in 2012, to serve as the morning anchor. While working at WAVY, Katie has contributed to several Emmy award wins for the station, and for her report on a local child who could not stop sneezing, she was nominated for an Emmy.
She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012, and she is open about her r battle with the disease as she also raises awareness about the disease. In addition, she works closely with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and she is also passionate about the American Heart Association, March of Dimes: March for Babies, the Breast Cancer Foundation, and many other organizations. Furthermore, she speaks to students at local schools and organizations on several topics such as overcoming obstacles, journalism, the power of women, and confidence.
Prior or joining the WAVY-TV 10/FOX 43 News teams, she worked in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at WJAC-TV where she served as the morning anchor from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. Collett has also worked at COX Broadcasting in Washington, D.C where she served as a full-time freelance producer. While she worked at COX Broadcasting, she covered a number of political topics such as the release of the 9/11 report to name a few, the President’s State of the Union Address, and the beginning of the War in Iraq.
In addition, she attended the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where she earned her bachelor of arts degree in Speech Communication. During her leisure time, she enjoys going with her family to Admirals games, Norfolk Tides games, and any number of festivals held in the area year-round.
