McCormick is a multimedia journalist at KVAL. She attended the University of Kansas and majored in journalism and business. McCormick is thrilled to be in the Pacific Northwest, where he is taking advantage of the many running trails and breathtaking scenery. She pretended to be a journalist as a child, interviewing friends and family members with her hairbrush as a microphone.
Her desire to connect with others and tell their stories led her to join GTV, a high school broadcasting club. McCormick created and hosted her own morning show, “Wake Up Call,” at the University of Kansas. While interning in London, England in 2018, she continued to diversify and hone her skills by covering movie premieres and interviewing British celebrities on the red carpet.
During her college years, she also interned at WMTV in Madison, Wisconsin, and KSNT in Topeka, Kansas. McCormick was named the Midwest’s Student Broadcaster of the Year during her final year at the University of Kansas. Keely enjoys coffee, the Kansas Jayhawks (Rock Chalk! ), and running outside.
