Kelli Saam is an American Emmy-award-winning Editor/Reporter/Anchor working with Action News Now where she serves the station as a Morning Anchor. She rejoined the Action News Now team in the year 2021.

Saam works with Action News Now where she serves the station as a morning anchor. The Emmy-Award-Winning journalist has covered major news events across the country. She was raised in the Chicago suburbs and is a proud graduate of Michigan State University. Asides from this, she has also worked at television stations in Chico, Lexington, Santa Maria, Redding, Lansing, and Nashville.

Among the significant stories, she has covered in her career include Presidential Debates, the move of the Houston Oilers(Tennessee Titans) to Nashville, and the Kentucky Derby. Asides from this, during her years working in Northern California, she also reported and anchored coverage of the Carr Fire near Redding and the Camp Fire in Butte County.

While she was working in Chico, her reporting on the dangers at Lookout Point led to safety improvements to prevent vehicles from going off the cliff into Butte Creek Canyon. Asides from this, after the death of 9-year Tommy Botell at Lassen Volcanic National Park, she investigated safety concerns on the Lassen Peak Trail. Her reporting was also followed by safety upgrades at the park and earned her an award nomination from the Associated Press.

Asides from that, her investigations into the LaPorte Fire in Bangor in the year 2017 also earned her an Emmy nomination and an Associated Press Award for Best Enterprise Reporting. Her series of in-depth stories documented the delayed response to the LaPorte Fire which burned down much of this small Butte County community. This reports culminated with changes in CAL FIRE staffing and training.

Away from work, she enjoys participating in and watching sports. She is a fan of the Chicago Cubs & Bears, USC Trojans, and Michigan State Spartans. Asides from this, she enjoys spending with her family and teaching them to appreciate musical greats like the Beatles. Saam can also be found exploring local trails and walking their family dog.
