Prior to this, he was working for KRCR News Channel 7 where he served the station as a Multimedia Journalist. He had been working with the station between June 2020 and August 2022.

Matthey works with KRCR News Channel 7 where he serves the station as a multimedia journalist and is from sunny Southern California. He is a proud graduate of California State University where he obtained a Degree in Broadcast Journalism in May 2020. Since his teenage years, he has always had a passion for journalism. He even anchored and reported for his high school broadcast “iTV.” This is what led him to pursue journalism work in a college where he hosted, reported, and produced for shows such as “OC News” and “The Report.”
While he was growing up in Irvine, California, he spent time in Orange County avidly going to Disneyland and sampling new food spots in his free time. He was also a cast member at “the happiest place on earth” throughout college, where he was working as an attraction trainer, host, and lead in Fantasyland, Toontown, and Frontierland. The coronavirus pandemic put him out of a job but was fortunate enough to earn a reporter role at KRCR News just a month after his graduation from college. He states that he is ecstatic to explore the food, opportunities, and people the Nortstate has to offer.
